A lot of subscribers have asked for a tutorial on progressive house, so heres my take on it! Here are the points i focus on: simplicity, layering & textures.\r

1:11 CHORDS: keep it simple. Itll be much easier to stack layers upon layers of textures if the chord progression is simple. Also, try progressions that do not resolve as this helps a lot when creating a soundscape that is ever-evolving!\r

4:27 TEXTURES: Mix and match soft textures (strings) with distorted textures (guitars), as well as synths and keys. Its always a good idea to voice the chords differently between instruments. That way, you get even more richness out of them. Pay close attention to the plugins i use to separate all of the layers: reverb, EQ and delay.\r

9:46 DRUMS: Filtered percussions will give again, more texture. Try to keep your choice of kicks and claps soft. Although this is house, it needs to be soft enough for longer mixes!\r

13:30 SYNTHS: keep it simple and rhythmic! These synths should drive the beat, without overshadowing our main textures.\r

16:41 MELODIES: now its time to make this a timeless piece. Find the catchiest and most emotional melody possible. We want the song to have a crazy climax. If not, whats the point of building this thing for 3 minutes!?!\r
