Gai Pie, also known as Chinese Mini Chicken Pies, are a favourite from Hong Kong style bakeries. This vegan Gai Pie tastes the same as the original with a tender shortbread-like sweet crust and creamy savory filling. If you want to fool your tastebuds, use a vegan faux chicken product (like the ones you see all the time in my What I Ate videos). If you cant/dont want to use faux chicken, use oyster mushrooms or tofu.\r

What is Mushroom Seasoning? The one I use contains mushroom powder, salt and mushroom extr. It adds an essential umami flavour that is difficult to replicate with anything else (other than cooking down pounds and pounds of oyster mushrooms).
