This was her first egg ever. Ive now learned the behavior that precedes the first egg:\r
-Running back to the coop alone when free-ranging. sometimes several days in a row before the egg appears.\r
-Obsession with the nest boxes. \r
-Walking in and out of the nest box area.\r
- Moving other hens eggs.\r
-Comb reddening.\r
-The rooster is suddenly interested in her when he ignored her before.\r
Of course she laid the egg RIGHT when I ran inside to charge my camera battery. Oh well. \r
