Karan always wanted to cast a star kid opposite Shah Rukh Khan in that movie so that the movie creates a hype. Before that, Anushka already tried for multiple movies but because of being an outsider, she was getting rejected. The filmmaker told his director friend, Aditya Chopra, that Anushka Sharma did not look good and has plain features. KJo also told Aditya that people would not like Anushka at all in the movie and the movie would be a flop. When Aditya Chopra was not convinced by Karan, the K3G director told Aditya Chopra that he would be crazy to sign Anushka. Karan himself admitted during a press conference of MAMI Film Festival that he did not like the images of Anushka. He thought that she was a bad looking girl with no attractive features. He admitted that he tried to sabotage her career. Karan himself revealed that he wanted to murder Anushka Sharma’s acting career completely. He even told his other filmmaker friends not to cast Anushka in their movies which is why Anushka was not getting good movies initially. Later Anushka Sharma’s brilliant performances in movies changed her career in Bollywood completely and she got casted in some great movies. Karan Johar even admitted that he did not like the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi at all because of Anushka Sharma’s presence. Though Karan apologised to Anushka for back then and even casted her as the lead in his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the damage was already done.
