When Liverpool arrived at Brammal Lane on the 28th of August 1978 for a 2nd Round League Cup game, fans were expecting an easy win for the European champions against a Sheffield United side which played in the second division.
That was not to be as the Blades shocked the footballing world by beating the Reds 1-0 and booking their place in the next round of the cup.
