The chief of the World Health Organization has urged countries NOT to politicize the probe into the origin of the novel coronavirus.
Speaking at a virtual press briefing Monday,... Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained that the international community needs to know the origin of the virus as it can be crucial in preventing future outbreaks.
The statement follows a Chinese state media report that the virus had been circulating in Europe last year before it was discovered in Wuhan,... pointing to the presence of the virus on imported frozen food packaging.
The global health body also stressed that countries need to closely monitor the spread of the virus with the beginning of the ski season.
