Gangubai Kathiawadi to release without any cut

Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', one of the most anticipated films to be released this year has been in news for more than one reason. The film helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is said to be based on Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' which is about Gangubai Kothewali.

According to media reports, three petitions were filed against the film ahead of its release on February 25 over the usage of words Kathiawad, Kamathipura and China in the film that is set to release on 25th February.

The Bombay High Court dismissed the petitions and the film is set to release without any cuts. Maharashtra Legislator Amin Patel along with the resident of Mumbai's Kamathipura area had filed an application in the Bombay High Court requesting the name of the area to be removed from the film.

'Gangubai Kathiawadi', also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
