The Barrackpore mutiny was a rising of native Indian sepoys against their British officers in Barrackpore in November 1824. The incident occurred when the British East India Company was fighting the First Anglo-Burmese War under the leadership of the Governor-General of Bengal, William Amherst, 1st Earl Amherst.

10 जुलाई 1806 के वेल्लूर के तमिलनाडु वाले विद्रोह और 1824 के बैरकपुर की छावनी वाला सैनिक विद्रोह ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के विनाश का कारण बना और इस से ब्रिटिश क्राउन का सीधे भारत पर हस्तक्षेप हो गया उस समय के तत्कालीन कारण ही इस सैनिक विद्रोह का मूल कारण था.
