Secret Service Holds Meetings to Plan for Potential Contingencies if Trump Is Jailed

The U.S. Secret Service held meetings and started planning if former President Trump were jailed for contempt in his hush money trial. Judge Merchan reserved a decision on contempt charges against Trump on Tuesday after a hearing. Assistant District Attorney Chris Conroy stated that while they are not pursuing a prison sentence, the defendant's actions suggest they might be heading in that direction. The Secret Service wouldn't comment on specific plans but plans for all contingencies involving protectees. There have been no discussions yet about protecting Trump if convicted and jailed.
