I recently quit College to follow my dream of joining the Navy, you'd enjoy hearing the wild stories my own family likes to spin of me, from apparently being "crazy", "sick in the head", it's funny to see the person they make me out to be.

I'm trying to point out that you are a separate person from your mother. What the gentleman is asking is, is the fetus a person (like you in your current form) or just a piece of biological waste. Because if it is a person then why should the mother get to decide to kill an actual human anymore than your mother should be allowed to kill you now as "an former piece of her body"

[] Yeah, I remember reading a few years back that, once you have enough money to be secure and comfortable, more doesn't really make you much more happy. However, being below that security threshold sure did make people miserable. It was a decent sum, but really wasn't a vast amount of money, something like £25k ($30k) / year (obviously, shifting somewhat depending on where you live).

The theory as to why more money didn't really make you much more happy was that your desires generally shifted with your earning potential. Just like the well-off guy wishes he had the really rich guy's awesome house and car, the really rich guy ultimately covets the insanely rich guy's helicopter, etc. Can't immediately find the study, and obviously it doesn't apply to everyone, but it did broadly make a lot of sense. Once you're comfortable, money only makes you as happy as the nice things it can buy, and there'll always be something you'd like but can't afford.

I don't think he took your post as calling him a shill. I think what he rather complained about was that people would label him a shill if he did what you warned him to do. No reason to suddenly start acting high-and-mighty.
