The Wan Papua Warriors arrived in London with a powerful mission; they were determined to win the London 9's to raise awareness about the 55 year secret genocide happening to their Melanesian neighbors in West Papua.

Wan Papua players joined forces with the West London team, Wests Warriors to create a combined team of players from Pacific nations. The Warriors team playing the 9s was made up of expats from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji, with the Wan Papua players representing Papua New Guinea and West Papua.
